Those moments where the Spirit tells you something...
I recently mentioned that I’m planning to get my patriarchal blessing this semester and every day I’m becoming more sure that this is what I need to do. I’ve been getting signs and promptings everywhere.
So, on Sunday I finally got to talk to my branch president about it. My interview is tomorrow! :D I know it will be similar to the interviews for baptism and temple recommend,...

LDS Living: Why do Mormons hold ‘General... →
lds-living:
“General Conference, as Mormons call it, has become a cultural icon for millions of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide. On the two days of conference itself, 100,000 people will pass through the doors of the vast facility known simply as the Conference Center. Many are local residents. Others have driven long distances or flown in. Inside, the center...

The power of our covenants is greater than any challenge we face or may face.
– Elder Walter F Gonzalez of the Presidency of the seventy (via i-choose-faith)
These words are so powerful and they are completely true. This just blows me away every time I read it.

I just watched a video that really bothered me.
“How NOT to Give a talk in Sacrament Meeting” One of the opening statements was about how saying or doing these things won’t drive away the Spirit, but they get on this person’s nerves. But I think that making fun of things people say and do during their talks DOES drive away the Spirit.
Not everyone is great at public speaking. Some people are frankly terrified of it, but...

Turning a negative into a positive
I left my apartment an hour before my home teaching appointment (because it’s not actually going down at my home) and I was 20 minutes late. Ugh. I despise being tardy. It gives me anxiety attacks.
But this time… this time it wasn’t so bad…
Long story short, the bus broke down. They sent another bus to pick up the people abandoned by the broken down bus so my bus got...

How Mormon is Mitt Romney →
landofbountiful:
Haha, I’m not exactly what you might call a Mitt Romney fan, but this is pretty flippin’ hilarious.
Mitt is so Mormon, he’ll rename FEMA the Federal Relief Society.

The Relief Society lesson today was on Temple Work and Family History. The sisters shared some beautiful testimonies. I got chills, I was moved to tears… It was a great lesson.
Two major events which have contributed to my testimony of temples immediately come to mind with this lesson.
The first was my baptism. It was the most incredible experience. The water was the perfect temperature...
counterxculture-deactivated2012 asked: I'd like to point out that it's fine to not agree but to fight over religious differences (or non religious) isn't doing right either. Even if it is fake, let's say heavenly father did not exist, it makes others who do believe happy. Who are we to judge others for that they believe in and what makes them happy. I am proud to say that this church is true and it's fine to...
Anonymous asked: Please shut the fuck up about this LDS bullshit. It is so lame and fake as hell sounding. CHRIST!

So, coincidentally, I’ve noticed that since I joined the Church, lemon lime sodas (Sprite, 7 Up, etc.) have really grown on me… I guess stereotypes all come from somewhere. ;)

Two different people I follow (at least one of whom follows me back) are getting their patriarchal blessings tomorrow. That’s so awesome and exciting!! :D
I’m planning to get mine sometime this semester, before Ben leaves on his mission.

I haven’t been as diligent as I’d like to be with my scripture reading lately. So I put up a reading chart in my room. I get a star sticker for every section/chapter that I read.
Juvenile? Yes. Is it working so far? Yes.

Holding my breath.
Yesterday I put in a bid for an editing position with an LDS women’s magazine/blog. It’s not a paid position (It’s a nonprofit) but I would LOVE to get to do it. (Plus, it would look awesome on my resume and my BYU application.) I’m really excited about it. So far there hasn’t been a ton of interest in the position andI actually seem to stack up fairly well against...
